Project Red Ribbon saw an Impressive line‐up of SA fashion designers and big SA names teaming up to design a red ribbon dress for World AIDS Day (AKA wear a Red Ribbon Day) under a 1 hour pressure test! Adelaide is about to get a whole lot more fashionable as the biggest ZARA in the Southern Hemisphere officially opened at the new and improved Burnside Village today.

Some excited shoppers had been lining up from 5am outside the store. 

Nova 919’s breakfast team kept the shoppers entertained as media from Adelaide got a sneak peek of the new store before it was opened to the public.

Spanish clothing and accessories retailer ZARA gets its popularity from the fact that it needs just two weeks to develop a new product and get it into stores.

This is compared to a six-month industry average. ZARA launches around 10,000 new designs each year.

The sheer size of the Adelaide ZARA, which is based on the store on Fifth Avenue in New York, means that it clearly has something for everyone.

With a focus on daywear, ZARA caters to men, women and children.

Each section is split up into different looks and there is something to suit every style and every taste.

Best of all, if you don’t like what’s in store today, that’s ok because new styles are shipped in twice a week!

It’s an absolute shoppers paradise and Adelaide fashion will never be the same again.

To accommodate the anticipated rush, ZARA will be open during the following hours over the first few days.

The newly renovated Burnside Village was relaunched on Friday night to a 500 strong crowd.

The exclusive event featured fashion parades showing off some of the fashions available at Burnside Village and performaces from Wendy Matthews, Marvin Priest and the Australian Dance Theatre.

Australia's Next Top Model judge Charlotte Dawson opened the event and guests sipped on Moet champagne and enjoyed delicious food catered by the Hilton.

The launch of Suede Online, a women’s online fashion boutique, was held on Wednesday 26 October 2011, at Royale Lounge Bar.

Launching in to the market on 14 October 2011, the creative mind behind it – Jamie Lee – said her desire to push herself and look outside the box is what drove her to create this brand new website.

Stocking a mix of high-end labels such as Gary Bigeni, One Per Diem, and Gail Sorronda, compared to fast fashion brands Staple and Wildfox Couture, Suede Online’s diverse range of designers complement one another, all portraying the Suede Online’s philosophy and attitude – simple, fresh, and chic. 

The launch event showcased Suede Online’s collections; which comprised of highly desired Australian and international designers, along with styling advice from Jamie Lee.

The Adelaide Fashion Festival came to an end with a truly spectacular event held on Saturday October 22 at the Norwood Concert Hall.

The winner of the 2011 ‘Best Emerging Designer Award’ was also judged with the winner announced as Glam Adelaide's fashion writer Alexandra Ireland!

Stencil and Morning Theft shared the runners-up prize.
