<p>On the easy-to-use website members of Holdfast Bay’s community can get involved and talk about how they’d like the city to grow. Their input, ideas and inspiration will then help Council make important decisions for the future.</p>
<p>The emphasis on Your View HQ is different to other tools that are survey-centred. On Your View HQ discussion is king – both between community members and Council, and between community members themselves.</p>
<p>Members will see a variety of projects, each with its own forum, where ideas can be shared, opinions voiced and options discussed. In addition there will also be news on Council’s latest projects.</p>
<p>Mayor of the City of Holdfast Bay Ken Rollond said that it’s important for our community to be involved in decision making.</p>
<p>“The more we know what our residents, ratepayers, businesses and visitors want, the better we can shape our City to everyone’s satisfaction.”</p>

<p>Tynte Flowers is an example of a business successfully using hashtags on Twitter through their #RandomActsofKindness campaign.</p>
<p>For the past several months Tynte Flowers has been taking notice of their followers tweets and if someone is in need of a random act of kindness, Tynte asks for their address and sends them flowers.</p>
<p>On International Nurses Day, Tynte singled out one of their followers, a nurse who works in the Nuclear Medicine department, to bestow a random act of kindness.</p>
<p>This nurse works with patients during some of the toughest times of their lives and is known to bring joy to every single one of them.</p>
<p>She was clearly overjoyed by the flowers Tynte sent her and grateful that she was being recognised on International Nurses Day.</p>
<p>&#8220;Your kind gesture of this gift, in appreciation for what we do as nurses everyday is overwhelming,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Thank you so much again, I feel like one very special nurse and cant wipe the smile from my face.&#8221;</p>
<p>Tynte has also cheered up a few ladies stuck home with sick children and one who was feeling upset the day after a funeral.</p>
<p>It is evident that Tynte Flowers is using social media sites such as Twitter in a positive and beneficial way to establish two-way communication with people to connect online and offline.</p>

<p>The Adelaide City Council is buzzing with a sense of optimism and opportunity according to Councillor Houssam Abiad.</p>
<p>Fresh and revived from the recent council elections, Councillor Abiad, 34, says the energy and enthusiasm in the current council is very exciting.</p>
<p>“There is a great balance of young and old members in the council that will appeal to a large cross section of the community,” said Councillor Abiad.</p>
<p>“The election provided a renewed energy to achieve great things for Adelaide and great opportunities for its constituents.”</p>
<p>Councillor Abiad is looking forward to continuing the relationships he established with the community leading up to the election.</p>
<p>“Just because I’ve been elected, it doesn’t mean the campaigning stops.</p>
<p>“I want to learn from the people of Adelaide and to introduce new platforms that will better engage them.”</p>
<p>With only thirty per cent of voters taking part in the council elections, Councillor Abiad is hoping to increase the number of voters to fifty per cent by the time the next election comes around.</p>
<p>“If we communicate with the younger generation by empowering them as community members, we’ll be able to keep them interested and provide them with a voice.”</p>
<p>Councillor Abiad is hoping to engage the younger generation by actively using social media to address issues as they arrive.</p>
<p>“Social media provides a platform to discuss issues with our constituents and get feedback in real time,” said Councillor Abiad.</p>
<p>“It will provide them with a chance to let us know if they agree or disagree with what we are doing.</p>
<p>“Our purpose as a council is to serve the community and I believe speaking with people, face to face and on a social media platform, will provide a great opportunity to effectively serve the Adelaide community.”</p>
<p>Excited by the prospects Adelaide has to offer, Councillor Abiad is no stranger to hard work, as the Executive Director of no less than four companies.</p>
<p>Telecommunications company Digimob, real estate company Macrovest, strategic marketing company Muscle Group and trendy Rundle St coffee haunt Felici have all provided Councillor Abiad with a unique insight into the competitive advantages of Adelaide.</p>
<p>This coupled with his involvement in community initiatives such as the Australian Refugee Association and the East End Coordination Group mean that he is thoroughly entrenched in the Adelaide community.</p>
<p>“I would never move my businesses from Adelaide with the work life balance an integral appeal for the community,” he said.</p>
<p>“The opportunities that Australia has to offer are endless with Adelaide having benefits that far outweigh Sydney or Melbourne.”</p>
<p>Born in Adelaide but growing up in Lebanon, Councillor Abiad feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to return to Adelaide with his family when he was nineteen.</p>
<p>Enjoying the start up involved in new business and the strategic development, Councillor Abiad is hoping to engage his business sense in council decisions.</p>
<p>“Guiding a business through those initial stages is what appeals to me,” said Councillor Abiad.</p>
<p>“Even though my businesses are in four different areas, the core model and infrastructure is the same across all industries and there’s no reason why that can’t be the same in the council.</p>
<p>Being involved in the council will provide Councillor Abiad with an opportunity to showcase all the passionate Adelaide supporter loves about the city.</p>
<p>“My role as a councilor will be to communicate my enthusiasm for Adelaide to other cities and countries.</p>
<p>“I really want to promote the wonderful city that it is and by doing that, I hope to better serve the community.”</p>

<p></a>Twitter addicts and motorsport fans will get unique access to this weekend’s fourth round of the Australian Rally Championship, Scouts Rally SA, thanks to a unique partnership with Adelaide company Pure Motorsport.</p>
<p>Fans will be able to ask their questions through Twitter on their computer or mobile phone by using the hashtag #askpm. Pure Motorsport will then ask the competitors for answers and feature this as part of their multimedia coverage.</p>
<p>Questions will also be answered live on Friday and Saturday night as part of Pure Motorsport’s live broadcast of the Angaston Super Special stage from 6.30pm on <a href="http://www.puremotorsport.tv/">www.puremotorsport.tv</a>.</p>
<p>“Professional motorsport is always seen as being detached from fans, but rallying is one of the most accessible forms of motorsport in the world,” said Ryan Jones, Pure Motorsport Team Principal. “Pure Motorsport’s coverage of Scouts Rally SA will allow fans to not only see all of the action, but directly participate in the coverage they get to see.”</p>
<p>Scouts Rally SA gets underway Friday 25 June with the Pedders No Bull Shootout in Mount Crawford Forest.</p>

<p>Here it is, the  official first line-up announcement for Parklife 2010. We’ve mentioned  it before, but it’s their tenth birthday this year, and it looks like  the celebrations are set to go off with a bang. As promised, there are  quite a few surprises on the roster of artists announced so far, with  organisers paying closer attention to the more  indie/alternative-inspired musical tastes of their punters, as well as  packing in a whole bunch of more traditionally Parklife-y electro and  hip hop acts.</p>
<p>There’s a decent selection of local electro acts  gracing the Parklife stage, with Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, and the  Bag Raiders all jumping aboard, but what’s really exciting is the  international acts on the line-up.</p>
<p>Enigmatic indie-folk band of  the moment Darwin Deez are heading down under for the first time, as are  “the Chemical Brothers of dubstep” the Glitch Mob and nu-disco darlings  Holy Ghost!</p>
<p>Groove Armada return to Australian shores less than a  year after their performances on the Big Day Out tour, this time with a  new, and darker album Black Light under their wings, and experimental  New Jersey cassette maestro Memory Tapes is packing up the gear to bring  his unique brand of electronica along for the ride.</p>
<p>Missy Elliot  has a new album slated for release at about the same time she heads  over to Australia for Parklife, and promises to bring with her a  complete band, back-up dancers and a whole bunch of new material.</p>
<p>One  of the greatest DJs of all time, Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys  will be spinning wax across the country like nobody’s business, and New  Young Pony Club promise to start riots everywhere they go (figuratively  speaking, of course).</p>
<p>Add to that the Dandy Warhols, The Wombats  and a whole swag of other international and local artists, and this  year’s Parklife is shaping up to be one of the best yet.</p>
