Casually Cameron

We sat down with Sound of Music lead male Cameron Daddo to chat about his personal style.

From the iconic 80’s show, Perfect Match, the 90’s American series, Models Inc, a plethora of tv mini-series, to hosting a music show on Foxtel, Cameron Daddo appears to have done it all. The Aussie heartthrob can now also add one more achievement to his ever-growing list, with his starring role at the Captain in the Sound of Music, which is currently playing at the Adelaide Festival Centre.
We sat down with lead male Cameron Daddo to chat about his personal style.
Q: How important is personal style to you?
Personal style to me is about being true to who you are. it’s about expressing yourself in a way thats authentic to your spirit and soul. That said, personal style is important to me.
Q: What defines your personal style?
My actions will often define my personal style. How I am with people- my friends, workmates and my family. The activities I choose to do. I love my golf and all things in the water. I love playing my guitar and collaborating with musicians, and of course, clothing is an important part of my personal style. Given that, it’s a big part my self expression.
Q: Do you subscribe to ‘Trends’ or ‘Classicism’?
Probably more of the “classicism” than “trends”. I like to have classic pieces in my wardrobe and dress those up with styles and colors that help me to feel good.
Q: Name 3 things that typifies your wardrobe?
Jeans, well fitting suits and t-shirts.
Q: Name 3 things you would never leave home without?
Jeans, a good pair of shoes and  a pair of reading glasses (urgh)
Q: What do you wear to feel most relaxed in on a casual weekend?
Jeans, flannel shirts, t-shirts.  If I could find a pair of tracky-dacks that were long enough I might add them too.
Q: Do you follow a daily routine to keep looking fresh and feeling good?
I take care of my skin with moisturisers etc. I meditate daily for at least 20mins and if I can take a quick nap in the arvo, I will (I never get enough sleep). I like to get out in the fresh air every day for a least an hour- whether that’s for a run, walk, ride and I swim every day.
Q: Is there a favourite designer you lean towards?
I really like Tom Ford’s work, funnily enough, I don’t own any.
Q: What’s your signature men’s fragrance?
I am still in the market on this… my problem is, if I am aware of a fragrance that I am wearing, it distracts me. The closest thing I would say to a signature fragrance is a Tom Ford one called Tuscan Leather… I think I still have a sample of that in my cupboard.
Q: A ‘red carpet’ event – Shave or Stubble?
Stubble
Q: How do you prefer to shop, online or actual stores.
Mostly in stores, I like to try things on so that I know they fit. Too many experiences of sending stuff back with online.
Q: Who’s the most stylish of the Daddo brothers?
That depends on what end of the spectrum you’re looking at! Also the time of day and what is the occasion has to be considered.
Our dad taught us well… we all have a sharp suit in the closet, a nice watch and shoes. All that said, Jamie (Andrews identical twin) has his own style, he’s a painter, so most of his clothes have the coolest custom paint splotches and his boots have an amazing paint job on them!
Q: Andrew has ‘roughed it’ on ‘I’m a Celebrity’ – would you ever consider putting yourself through that.
Not a chance.  Not that I mind roughing it, though doing it with a million or so people watching is not a part of my personal style.
