Marvel at the magical mayhem, be inspired by the acrobatic tricks and enjoy carnival- inspired concoctions as the Carousel of Dreams returns to Adelaide Casino this weekend.
Featuring a cavalcade of astonishing live acts and gastronomical delights, the festival will run every Friday and Saturday night from Friday, 13 June to Saturday, 12 July.
Adding a new dimension to this year’s instalment is the launch of The Great Carousel Character Quiz, which invites enthusiasts to take leave of their senses with a range of carousel-inspired scenarios (think what would you do if the lion escapes from its cage or the ringmaster tells you a secret that affects tonight’s show) to find out if they’re a snake charmer, fire twirler … or something more intriguing. Of course you can share your carnival alterego with your friends via Facebook and Twitter.
During Carousel of Dreams, Casino guests will be enthralled by roaming live entertainment including Flavella the Snake Lady, acrobats, contortionists, jugglers, magicians, cheeky mime artists, can-can dancers and fire twirlers in and around the Casino on Fridays from 6pm and Saturdays from 8pm.
Loco Bar will be transformed into the dark and mysterious Carousel Bar, where people can enjoy live music and sip amazing cocktails, including Cointreau Noir concoctions.
Or for the more daring, the amazing Carnival Inferno is sure to get tastebuds blazing, as the mixologist expertly sets the cognac and orange bitters drink alight before pouring it into the glass. All this, while having their palm read by Madame Vera or being mesmerised by the Queen of Cards, the sleight of hand card magician.
Meanwhile, Chandelier Bar will have two aerial trapeze artists suspended high above the crowd and will serve a selection of seductive drinks including a new range of “Stolen” Rum cocktails.
The popular and gastronomic 18-inch schnitzel also returns (and includes a pint of Carlton Draught for $17.50) to Café Junction.
