Do you have a talent for design? Would you like to get international attention for your creative skills?
The annual Adelaide Kids Film Festival is calling for young talent to design an eye-catching and inspiring poster for the 2013 festival. The competition is open to all students, aged 18 years and under, from now until May 31st.
Judges are looking for creative and original designs that encompass the festival’s 2013 theme, “Inspire Me”, and the vibrant spirit of its young artists. The winning entry will be announced on June 14 and will be featured both interstate and internationally, with the winner receiving a prize pack including a video camera, movie passes, and a VIP pass to the festival.
Last year’s winner, 17-year-old Antony Marshall from Hamilton College, said that entering the poster competition was a fun and rewarding experience.
“I was very excited about the fact that something I had designed had won a competition. It made me very proud to see my poster displayed all around Adelaide and beyond.” Antony says.
The festival’s creator Chloe Gardner said the poster competition is a great way to display the talents of Australia’s young designers, with last year’s entries coming from school kids as young as 6 years old.
“I believe it’s extremely important for kids to feel part of a festival that celebrates their ideas, creativity and intelligence,” Chloe says.
The Festival, held from 14-17 November 2013, will showcase and nurture the talents of young filmmakers over four days of screenings, workshops and Q&A sessions with industry professionals. Entry in the filmmaking competition is free and will be open from July-September 2013.

ABOUT ADELAIDE KIDS FILM FESTIVAL
The Adelaide Kids Film Festival is an annual film festival for kids by kids. The Festival aims to encourage, foster and nurture an appreciation for digital storytelling by young people. The event, open to filmmakers 18 years and under, calls for film submissions in three main categories: Live-Action, Animation and Documentary. Since its inception in 2011, the competition has drawn entries from all around Australia and the world.
