Burge’s Boy Launches Own Barossa Wine Label

Sixth generation Barossa winemaker,Trent Burge launches the first wines from his own label.

You can take the boy out of the Barossa but you can’t take the Barossa out of the boy! With a family history in the Barossa Valley which spans back to 1855, it is no surprise that Trent Burge had a vision to make his mark on the Australian wine industry.

Growing up on a vineyard and working within the family business has inspired and prepared Trent to launch of his very own label, Barossa Boy. Trent says “The objective of Barossa Boy wines is to continue what generations before me have created, showcasing the Barossa’s most loved varietals in a modern way, by telling untold stories of my life lived in this extraordinary region.”

Barossa Boy’s first two wines are now ready for release. Number one, a 2016 Grenache Shiraz Mataro, cheekily named, Little Tacker. Trent regards this as the ultimate Barossa wine blend: fruitful, fun and youthful, which pays homage to his adventurous childhood. And the second, a 2016 Shiraz Cabernet named Double Trouble, which honours the beloved, classic Aussie blend.

There are a couple more wines up his sleeve set to be released in early 2018.Barossa Boy wines are currently available online at barossaboywines.com.au.
