It is absolutely no secret that we love everything about breakfast. In fact it might just be one of our favourite food groups, up there with cheese, chocolate and wine. We make our own food pyramid. However, we digress…. Back to the good stuff. You can imagine our pure delight when the news came through that there is another delicious cafe on the Adelaide scene. Yay!
Remember The Stranded Store? Remember when it closed down? We are pretty sure we can still hear the uniform sigh of ‘ohhh noooo’ that rung around the ‘burbs. It was a fab little joint but never fear breakfast junkies, for there is a new cafe on the already established block.
From the geniuses that have brought us the goods including the Corner Store Cafe in Dulwich and Long Lost Friend in Magill (for a short while – they have since sold this little gem) comes Local Crowd.
This is the kind of crowd that you want to hang out with, trust us… With its all day breakfast menu (a must), including all the usual faves from eggs benny to buttermilk pancakes (we will have one of each), plus some tasty lunch menu options such as the king prawn salad and beef brisket sandwich, we want to hang with this cool kid all of the time.

A cafe after our own hearts, they have a preference for using seasonal and fresh produce with a mix up of the menu every three months. That means new and delicious reasons to keep going back. Plus their menu also caters for the kids, which is always great for parents to have in mind.
Did we mention that they have added freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, cakes and take away options to their menu? Oh yes, we love us a smoothie.
Coffee… A must.
Have you always loved the food at the Corner Store? Well you are in luck because their Head Chef Adrian Breschi, who has been working there for years, will be heading up the kitchen at Local Crowd.
And they haven’t used the word ‘local’ in their name for no reason… This place is surrounded by schools, sports grounds, playgrounds and parks and has a real community/family orientated vibe surrounding the area. With the all day brekkie menu, families can come in on the weekend and grab some grub before heading off to get the day’s sport out of the way!
Tip: they don’t take bookings only walk ins.
