Bowerbird Workshops and Collaborations Announced

Today Bowerbird unveiled a collection of workshops, activations and collaborations for their upcoming market to be held 5 -7 May at the Adelaide Showground.

Everyone loves a good market, but when one of our favourite events, the Bowerbird markets, announced a whole new arm to the experience, things just got even better.

Today Bowerbird unveiled a collection of workshops, activations and collaborations for their upcoming market to be held 5 -7 May at the Adelaide Showground.

South Australian photographer Craig Arnold from She Creative, will host a real-time photography studio, shooting a range of products from Bowerbird’s talented designers. Demonstrations will also be run by some designers at their stalls including YO. DAN who will demonstrate their artistic flare at glass lampworking, and weaving with Threefold Designs.

Across the entire event weekend, Union Street Printmakers will host a hands-on printmaking class, ideal for beginners and those wanting to have a bit of fun experimenting with different printing techniques, these classes are the perfect opportunity to illustrate and print a card for mum this Mother’s Day!

Adelaide installation artist Monica Prichard will run two sessions over the weekend. On the opening Friday evening Monica will host an origami workshop, forming delightful creations by folding paper, while on the Saturday she will run her beloved pom-pom making class – back by popular demand!

In a special one-off class on the Saturday, Bowerbird stallholder Deckle Studio will offer a paper-making class where you can make your own trifold card or gift tag from paper pulp, and add your own glitter, confetti, seeds, and colour to create that special card for someone close.

Sunday will also see Wildbuds offering the perfect class leading into Mothers Day, their flower posies making class will provide the opportunity to construct a small posy with in season flowers. While hip King William Rd hairdressers, Fön Salon, will set up a fun pop-up styling bar, offering fun complimentary consultation and styling advice, along with the opportunity to have your hair styled on the spot.

Music will be compiled by local Miss Lyndal Jay who will DJ live on Friday night in the beautifully lit venue, appearing alongside over 160 designers from SA and around Australia at the Wayville Pavilion, Adelaide Showground from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 May.

There will also be a range of delectable food and beverage stalls, including Coffee from Dawn Patrol Coffee and Booknook & Bean, fantastic meals from Let Them Eat, Public CBD, and Sit Lo amongst others. For the sweeter treat, there will be brownies from Four Seeds and pastries from Sucre Patisserie, while Lambrook Wines, Three Oaks Cider, Antipodes Gin Co. and Sinkonah will provide refreshing drinks.
