Boutique SA Music Festival Handpicks The Veronicas

Handpicked Festival returns to Lake Breeze Winery at Langhourne Creek in 2016 with arguably their biggest headline draw so far, as well as an Aussie band reunited for their first show in over a decade.

The Handpicked Festival have done well for themselves over the last few years. The Lake Breeze Winery down at Langhorne Creek is pretty flawless setting for a music event, with views to die for and endless vineyards to explore alongside the entertainment, food and wine. Previously they’ve attracted the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Sheppard, Conrad Sewell and Dan Sultan to perform, and they’ve continued with the pop heavy hitters for 2016.

ARIA Winners and international darlings The Veronicas have been announced as the headline this year, to be joined by Killing Heidi for their first live shows in over a decade!

Following sold out performances across the globe, and off the back of their #1 single ‘In My Blood’ – The Veronicas will make their long-awaited return to Adelaide alongside an exclusive South Australian show from Killing Heidi will commemorating the 20th anniversary since the formation of the band. That band shot to fame
with their debut album, Reflector in 2000, which went on to win four ARIA awards and reached platinum four times, with single Weir undoubtedly still in the memory banks of countless Aussie music fans.

Also announced on the line up is local Adelaide singer songwriter, Thom Lion and his band The Tamers. Lion spent 2015 playing major Aussie stages with the likes of The Rubens, The Waifs and Saskwatch, and was
recently named by the AU Review as one of South Australia’s top 5 emerging artists.

Kate Cooper, Event Manager for Handpicked Festival’s and Lake Breeze Wines has also revealed that for the first time, Handpicked will offer onsite camping this year.  The Handpicked Tent City will have space for upwards of 500 campers, the new initiative has been developed to allow festivalgoers the opportunity to attend the festival and stay the night onsite and drive home safe in the morning. Campers will have the opportunity to drive on to the festival site, park and then walk into the camping area, ensuring a safe car free camping experience for all.

Also new to the festival in 2016 is Tasting Trail, a gastronomic spread showcasing Langhorne Creek’s
intentionally acclimated range of fresh produce alongside Lake Breeze’s renowned collection of
wines. The Lane, Handpicked Festival’s market place will also return in 2016, exhibiting a diverse
range of South Australia’s arts, crafts, jewelry, and home wares.

Handpicked festival is quickly becoming one of regional South Australia’s swiftest growing cultural
events. Only 15 minutes south of Strathalbyn, South Australia, Handpicked is a complete sensory
experience based at the award winning Lake Breeze Winery nestled within the picturesque
landscape of the Langhorne Creek wine region.
