Bistro Dom has been on Adelaide’s food scene with gusto, since it first opened on Waymouth Street in the city. With a line up of incredible head chefs under its belt including Duncan Welgeomed (Africola), and Shane Wilson (The Henry Austin), the baton has now been handed to Nationally acclaimed chef and ex-Masterchef: The Professionals Luke Southwood. With him comes a new Spanish influence, taking the French-inspired dining experience in to more of a fusion of European flavours, and philosophies.
Glam Adelaide was invited to try the newly launched Winter menu at a recent media dinner, and we’re pleased to report that Southwood has continued the foodie paradise that we’ve come to associated with Bistro Dom. Our first time back to the venue since its recent renovations allowed us to check out the more open space, still tucked into a pocket of Waymouth Street that makes it one of Adelaide’s cosiest dining locations.
With a new focus on probiotic ingredients such as kefir being incorporated into meals, Southwood aims to made you feel satiated, whilst making you well at the same time. Finding somewhere to line your stomach with good bacteria isn’t the norm when choosing fine dining, however Southwood’s approach with his classical Spanish style food, inspired in modern-Australian style, just works. And after a delicious meal, we can all walk out feeling like we’ve done something good for our palates, and bodies.
