Bird In Hand Does New York Fashion Week

Bird In Hand Sparkling is a favourite here in the Glam Adelaide office, and it seems that New York got a taste of the delicious drop at a very fashionable event

It is no secret that Bird In Hand Sparkling is one of Glam Adelaide’s favourite bubbly. It is South Australian, it is delicious and that, if you ask us, is the perfect combination. Another favourite in the office… Fashion. Duh! So when we heard that the two had been combined, in NEW YORK (!) we just had to share this amazing story with all of you.

Andrew Nugent, owner of the amazing Bird In Hand Winery, made his way to New York where the stunning Sparkling was poured at a very special event.

As a kick starter to New York Fashion Week, no less, the chic event saw Fern Mallis, who basically invented New York Fashion Week, introduce another instalment of the Fashion Icons event.

Mallis, the award-winning creator and organiser of Fashion Week in New York and cities across the globe has been an industry game changer in the world of fashion and design for more than 35 years. A former senior vice president of IMG Fashion and executive director of CFDA, she is the author of Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis, published by Rizzoli, which features no-holds-barred interviews, combined with never-before-seen personal photographs from interviewees such as Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Betsey Johnson, Polly Mellen, Bruce Weber and more.

Held at the 92Y Cultural and Community Centre, she interviewed ex supermodel/boss lady Iman, who now runs her own cosmetics company, IMAN Cosmetics, Skincare and Fragrances.

Guests at the special event included Jay Manuel (TV’s America’s Next Top Model), Robert Verdi (TV’s Fashion Police), Bethann Hardison (Legendary Model Agent), Stan Herman (Father of Fashion Week).

What an event for such an amazing South Australian brand to experience. And we say, how lucky are the people at that event that got to taste our State’s amazing produce!

Go Bird In Hand!
