After 15 years, the Best of the Edinburgh Fest continues to be a highlight of Adelaide Fringe, featuring three international comedy acts for the price of one.

Presenter Mary Tobin says the show is an unbeatable night of world-class comedy featuring the hottest new talents to have appeared at the last Edinburgh Fringe.

“For 2014 we feature the hilarious Jimmy McGhie with two of the UK’s hottest new comedy stars making their Adelaide Fringe debuts; the charming, self-deprecating and genuinely funny Daniel Sloss from Scotland and the very gifted stand-up of Kai Humphries who is star of UK Comedy Central’s Comedy Store“.

Kai Humphries is described as a high-octane, happy-go-lucky, genuinely hilarious and truly loveable Geordie comedian who has been rapidly shooting up the UK comedy ranks. He’s worked in Australia, the Middle East, India, performed three solo seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe and toured the UK with Daniel Sloss.

Daniel Sloss is UK comedy’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning half-man-half-Xbox, and is making his Adelaide debut hot on the heels of his 6th consecutive sold out solo Edinburgh Fringe (where he sold a whopping 10,000 tickets) and a massive year of live touring, television appearances and his debut DVD release. Now 23, Daniel started performing aged just 16 and has appeared on UK TV shows including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard’s Good News, 8 Out of 10 Cats and the USA’s Conan O’Brien. In 2009 Daniel debuted at London’s Soho Theatre becoming the youngest stand-up ever to perform a solo season in the West End. He has a pet velociraptor named Rowdy.

Jimmy McGhie is a highly regarded stand-up and comic performer recently completed his second tour of Asia, performing in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam following his fourth solo show at the Edinburgh Festival, Delusions of Candour, which received rave reviews.

Before that he completed a triumphant tour of Australia, performing in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, where he was nominated for Best International Act.

Jimmy is a regular at the top comedy clubs in the UK including The Comedy Store, The Glee Clubs, Highlights, Jongleurs and Komedia Theatres. Jimmy can be seen on series 3 of BBC Three’s Live at the Electric and has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News, as well as co-presenting the Dave Gorman radio show on Absolute Radio.

Grown-up, insightful comedy that isn’t dependent on shock value and still had me thinking about issues he’d raised hours after the show. Excellent. Chortle

Best of the Edinburgh Fest plays at The Governor Hindmarsh from 14 February to 15 March, with additional performances at the Salisbury Secret Garden on Sun 23 February at 7pm and the Rosemount Estate Cellar Door on Sunday 2 March at 7pm. Tickets may be purchased through FringeTix.
