Beauty Queens Unite in Australia for Queens without Scars Campaign

Adelaide is hosting the National Finals of Miss/Mrs Australasia and Miss/Mrs Pacific Islands 2015 at the Australasia & Pacific Islands Pageant 2015

beautyqueenOn May 9, Adelaide will be blooming with beauty for a pertinent cause. The city is hosting the National Finals of Miss/Mrs Australasia and Miss/Mrs Pacific Islands 2015 at the Australasia & Pacific Islands Pageant 2015, with winners continuing on to international pageants such as the United Nations Pageant and Mrs Universe.

It will be a night of fashion, entertainment and food, with celebrity guest appearances from Mr World Australia Nick Kennett, Priya from Big Brother 2015 and 2014 Masterchef runner up Laura Cassai, alongside sponsorship by Blow-it’s a hair thing and ICCAM talent and Casting Agency.

Underneath the glamour lies a most important mission – raising awareness for violence against women; the finalists will be taking part in the world-renowned Queens without Scars campaign.

Queens without Scars was founded and initiated by Qatar-based Mexican model, actress and dancer Yezzi Navarro.

Scars are not only the physical, but also the psychological, financial and social side effects of violence against women.

The campaign forces viewers to draw comparisons between a photograph of a beauty queen in her strongest element beside their image as a victim of physical assault using special effects makeup.

By empowering women to raise awareness, stand up for their rights and motivating people to fight against violence, Queens without Scars has now received global support from Australia, Netherlands, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Bulgaria and Pakistan.

In August 2014, Adelaide’s very own Mrs Australia Universe 2014 Francesca McMillan (pictured) took part in an international Forum “One Universe, One Voice” in Malaysia.

As part of the Mrs Universe Pageant, delegates from all over the world came together to speak on issues surrounding Violence against women from their country.

The global group then came together to share various campaigns to take back to their countries.

Francesca is one of the leading Ambassadors of Queens without Scars in Australia taking the campaign to new levels.

The Australasia & Pacific Islands Pageant falls on the eve of Mother’s Day; the perfect way to show solidarity as women and support those who have sacrificed much for our future.

Tickets are on sale through Moshtix.
