South Australia is leading the way in science, with locally run, national science communication organisation RiAus launching Australia’s first dedicated science channel out of Adelaide today.

The channel, RiAus TV, aims to deliver free, high quality science-based content as well as exclusive interviews with leading scientists.

RiAus Director Dr Paul Willis says the channel revolutionises science broadcast as we know it.

“Every Australian should have access to the wonders of science, and now through RiAus TV they can for free,” Dr Willis said.

“We need to make science an integral part of Australian pop culture, the future of our society depends on it plain and simple.

“RiAus TV will provide a great opportunity to appeal to everyone, from school students to professionals to science first timers.”

Universities across the country, including The University of Adelaide, Flinders University and the University of South Australia have signed up as partners for the channel.

RiAus TV content will be available across all digital media platforms from desktops to tablets and smartphones at riaus.tv, with upcoming broadcasts including interviews with Professor Brian Cox and Professor Ian Chubb.
