Australian Dance Theatre To Return to North America With KMP Artists

As Australia’s oldest contemporary dance company and one of the nation’s leading arts ambassadors, the Australian Dance Theatre is eagerly anticipating returning to the region for the first time in a whole decade.

Australian Dance Theatre has officially appointed KMP Artists as the company’s exclusive representative in North America!
As Australia’s oldest contemporary dance company and one of the nation’s leading arts ambassadors, ADT is eagerly anticipating returning to the region for the first time in a whole decade. The company was met with rave reviews and sold-out shows in the early 2000s when it toured the US with Birdbrain and Held.
ADT executive director Shaun Comerford says ADT’s return to North America is long overdue and marks an exciting new phase for the company. They believe KMP Artists understand their goals for 2018 and beyond, and show tremendous passion.
Their new works, The Beginning of Nature and Habitus are the first in Garry Stewart’s Nature Series and will appeal to not only to fans in the United States and Canada, but also a broader audience as they explore themes that are universal.
The Beginning of Nature examines the rhythms of nature and the score features operatic singing from the local indigenous language Kaurna, the once-lost language native to the Adelaide plains, where ADT is based.
Habitus examines people’s relationship with material goods and how today’s treasures will become tomorrow’s junk, and how eventually, all of it will be reclaimed by the Earth.
ADT artistic director Garry Stewart says American audiences have always been incredibly responsive to the company’s works and he looks forward to returning to the US and Canada in 2018.
We are very excited for this Australian dance company powerhouse to do big things in the US and at home in 2018!
