Australian Beach Volleyball Championships

Competition is sure to be hot as Australia’s elite beach volleyball athletes fight it out on the sand at Glenelg foreshore across the weekend of March 11th to March 13th at the Holdfast Bay Australian Beach Volleyball Championships, the pinnacle event for the sport in Australia.

In 2011 the Australian Beach Volleyball Championships is proudly brought back to the beach by the City of Holdfast Bay.

“Holdfast Bay is very excited to be the naming sponsor of this year’s Australian Beach Volleyball Championships. We are looking forward to the tournament bringing both athletes and spectators to our beautiful beaches and introducing them to our great city.”…(City of Holdfast Bay CEO – Justin Lynch)

A media launch will be held at Pier1 Bar at The Pier, an official sponsor of the  Championships, on Thursday 10th March from 5.30-7.30pm to celebrate bringing the sport back to the beach, and the official opening of the Championships.  Hosted by Nova on air talent, the exclusive group of athletes, event partners, VIP guests and championship officials will toast the tournament with Ta-Ku wines and icy cold XXXX Summer beer.

Across the course of the weekend there will be a number of exciting attractions taking place on the foreshore and showcasing the beautiful attributes of Holdfast Bay.

These include, the high performance action on the beach volleyball court, brand activations including the Wendy’s Schools Clinic, Ta-Ku Twilight Celebrity Challenge featuring SA media and sporting identities, the XXXX Summer, Ta-Ku and Bolle tents, Nippy’s van and a regular presence from Nova’s Casanovas.

Get down to the beach … enjoy the weekend … and then join the athletes for a celebratory Sunday Session at Sol Bar at the Pier from 2.30pm.
