The Snazzy Sizzle

In 2014, the Torrens Riverbank precinct will be Adelaide’s hottest entertainment precinct. The newest official Australia Day In The City Event, The Snazzy Sizzle is giving you the BEST seat in the house for the Australia Day Fireworks and a classy twist on the classic Aussie BBQ with The Snazzy Sizzle!
The Snazzy Sizzle offers you a choice of two options;

1. A family-friendly ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Gourmet BBQ Dinner from 6pm-9pm at just $49 per person (includes entry to the After Party)!
2. The Snazzy Sizzle After-Party with the internationally acclaimed DJ HMC to keep celebrations going ’til the early hours of the morning. Entry is only $5 per person!

 

timomaticAustralia Day in the City

Australia Day in the City will be bigger than ever in 2014, with the likes of Timomatic and Sarah De Bono headlining the concert. The event will begin at 6pm with one of the largest Australia Day Parades in the country, featuring more than 4000 people celebrating what they love about Australia and being Australian.  Then head to Elder Park for the Concert from 7pm proudly presented by Adelaide City Council.

The Concert will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display, attracting over 3,000 each year!

 

 

Havianas Thong Challengehavaianas-giant-thong-challenge-2014

Every Australia Day, 1000s of Aussies host backyard Havaianas BBQs, or hit the surf at iconic beaches on giant Havaianas inflatable lilos! It’s all part of the Havaianas Thong Challenge – a great way to get together with family and friends, celebrate our national day, and raise money for Surf Life Saving Australia.

Take to the water atop a giant thong and connect up with many others doing the same thing. Pre-registration required.

Australian Day Night Market

Make your Australian Day remarkable at the Adelaide Night Market!

A lively, vibrant, exciting market featuring the flavours of the world – some of the best hawker food that the city has to offer, alongside an array of artisan, clothing, jewellery, cultural goods and local gourmet produce.

This amazing night market on North Terrace is right in the heart of the city, with easy access by foot, car, bike or public transport.

Slip on your thongs, zinc across your nose and pull out your best Boardies to party at The Highway for Australia Day 2014. Festivities kick off at 11am with $5 Coopers Pale Ale, live music from Adelaide’s own Ash Gale, and the drawing for the ‘best BBQ recipe’ competition. The barbecue will be going hot from 4pm, serving up delicious Gourmet Game Kanga Bangas with all the classic trimmings and sauces.

 

 

GlenelgAustralia Day At The Bay

Australia Day at the Bay kicks off at Brian Nadilo Reserve, Glenelg Foreshore, with music from 6.30am & the Citizenship Award Ceremony at 9:30am.

A community Breakfast BBQ and Barista Coffee will be running from 7.30am. There will be a free Community Morning Tea with face painting at 10.30am and the all famous Havaianas Thong Challenge on Glenelg Beach from 10am – 4pm.

 

 

 

REGIONAL EVENTS

The Barossa Council Australia Day Breakfast

From 8.30-10am all are welcome to the Tanunda Show Hall for a free breakfast event including citizenship ceremony and Australia Day Awards.

This free festival runs from the 24th to the 27th on January. Situated on the foreshore of picturesque Boston Bay. A celebration of the vast and growing fishing and aquaculture industry of the City. Highlights include the World Championship John West Tuna Toss, a spectacular fireworks display and street procession. On Australia Day join 5CC & the City of Port Lincoln for a morning full of celebrations, beginning with a free breakfast and culminating in Citizenship celebrations.

Come and celebrate Australia Day with Jungle Jooce! Australia Day at Waikerie will feature show rides, food, wine and great entertainment all day and evening. The concert will be held at the Waikerie Town Oval. For more details phone 0428413221.

 

 

 

Whyalla Australia Day Celebrations

Whyalla Australia Day Celebrations will be held at the Whyalla Foreshore from 3pm until 9pm. It will start with a ‘Youth Hour’ featuring and supporting some of Whyalla’s young up-and-coming performers. From 4pm there will be the Sandcastle Competition, Thong Throwing Championship, Bottomless Boat Classic and the much loved Dummy Spitting Championships. It is a free event for all and there will be FREE Aussie flags and tattoos, airbrushing art, face painting and amusement rides.

The Official Australia Day Ceremony will begin at 6.30pm which will involve the Mayor message, raising of the flags, a special presentation to residents who have become Australian Citizens during 2013, the presentation of the 2014 Whyalla Australia Day Awards then the unveiling of the iconic Aussie lamingtons. The 2014 Whyalla Australia Day Celebrations will finish on a high with the Whyalla Muso’s Aussie Day Band and the fireworks spectacular to close the celebrations at 9pm.
