There have been many trends that have been sweeping Adelaide of late, but it appears that the most prominent over the coming years will be flashy new hotels.

It has just been announced that ‘Aloft Adelaide’ will open its doors in 2019 as part of the New Mayfield Project on Sturt Street in the city.

New Mayfield is the $300m mixed use redevelopment on the old Mayfield Electrics site on Sturt Street, which is designed by Woods Bagot.

The hotel is set to include 200 rooms, a 24 hour fitness centre, a running track, an indoor pool and even a rooftop bar that will look over the city.

The space will also cater for large functions, business meeting spaces and entertainment areas.

This comes closely after the news of a number of other inner city hotels to be built including the Lester Hotel on West Terrace, the Holiday Inn Express on Hindley Street and the Sofitel on Currie Street.

Not to mention the additions of the Mayfair Hotel, Ibis Adelaide, and both Quest on King William and Quest on Franklin, all which have opened since 2013.

The focus will be on the future of Adelaide, with up and coming artists playing in the rooftop bar and even keyless check-in which can be done straight from a guests mobile phone.

It is hoped that The New Mayfield Project will mean up to 1200 jobs during the construction period and around 130 after the completion in 2019.

Aloft Adelaide’s sleek and sophisticated look is being designed by the Woods Bagot architecture firm in conjunction with local landscape architects Oxigen.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts are set to expertly manage the new hotel which we’re sure will bring great things to the hospitality industry of Adelaide.
