With Adelaide first on her list of expansion plans, Alex has partnered with multi award winning makeup artist and ex Channel 7 Melbourne celebrity stylist, Kara Fantasia, to bring this dream to life.
Alex, armed with 18 years of unofficial market research saw a hole in the market for superior quality, handmade, Australian made, cruelty free, affordable cosmetics, while Kara, with over 20 years experience in the fashion and beauty industries, is thrilled to be onboard the Runway Room train.

Runway Room Make Over Bars and Mobile Team Runway Room the brand was born four years ago when Alex opened the very first complete makeover bar in Melbourne. Other establishments were offering separate hair and separate makeup services, but no one was offering a complete duet.
With the unique concept ticking over in her head Alex conceived and executed the makeover bars, which now boast a bustling, loyal client base. The bars are the go-to destination for hens, school formals, wedding parties and those in the know who want a luxe makeover at an accessible price. Runway Room also offers glam squads of mobile makeup teams who deliver professional hair and make up services on location for TV productions, award nights, weddings, hen events or corporates.
Alex has also introduced Runway Academy – a state of the art training academy for makeup services that gives graduates the opportunity to be part of the Runway Room mobile team, run their own small business with a fully stocked Runway Room professional kit, marketing support and mobile distributor license. Runway Room Academy is more than just a makeup course – it grooms young artists to be confident and adept business owners. Something Alex is incredibly proud of. Already operating in Melbourne and Adelaide, Runway Academy has plans to open in Perth and Sydney soon!
Kara is currently running the Runway Academy in Adelaide and is incredibly excited to be opening the Runway flagship store in the city later this year.
