Aldi Confirms When And Where First Adelaide Stores Will Be Opening

Want to know where and when the first Aldi stores will open in South Australia? Then you had better read on….

ALDI Australia will be ready for business in South Australia from early next year, today announcing the completion of its Distribution Centre at Regency Park. The supermarket’s first 150 Store Assistants also begin training this month, with ALDI’s first stores confirmed to open on February 3, 2016.

“The completion of ALDI’s Distribution Centre is an important step for our business,” said Viktor Jakupec, Managing Director – ALDI South Australia.

“As the hub of ALDI’s network in South Australia, it will service up to 50 stores and help us to bring the ALDI shopping experience to local residents.

“We know excitement is building among South Australian shoppers and we look forward to showing them the benefits ALDI can bring both to their wallet and their lifestyle.”

With construction well underway, ALDI’s first stores are on track to open on February 3, 2016. These stores include Seaford Heights, Parafield Gardens, Hallett Cove and Woodcroft. ALDI’s next round of store openings will include Modbury, Noarlunga, Mount Barker and St Agnes in March, with a total of 16 stores expected to be open by the end of 2016.

ALDI’s first Store Managers have returned to South Australia after spending eight weeks on the eastern seaboard learning the ALDI way of doing business. Selected from a highly competitive field of more than 3000 applicants, they will help ALDI deliver the best possible shopping experience to customers, and in turn will have rewarding career opportunities with industry-leading employment benefits.

ALDI’s first 150 Store Assistants also begin their training from November 23. The training will take place in several of ALDI’s completed South Australian stores, to provide staff with valuable hands-on experience ahead of the first stores opening next year.

“Our commitment to the personal development of ALDI employees starts from day one,” Mr Jakupec said. “ALDI’s training program sets our employees up for career success. We’ve enjoyed seeing our staff grow alongside our business and independent employee surveys have consistently shown high levels of job satisfaction.”

As ALDI’s South Australian expansion continues to progress, other confirmed areas of interest include West Lakes, Hawthorn, Victor Harbor, Blakeview, Smithfield, Kilburn, Gilles Plains, Berri, Marion, Aldinga, Evanston, Nuriootpa, Golden Grove, Salisbury, Mount Gambier, Port Pirie and Yorke Peninsula.

We got to experience the ALDI way when we visited them in Sydney, don’t miss our story about our trip here.
