Glenelg will soon have a fresh new venue called The Moseley Bar & Kitchen, which will draw inspiration from the iconic beachside location, and provide a unique place for locals and visitors to relax and unwind.

The multi-million dollar development in Moseley Square will be open for business in mid-September.  The venue’s owners include the RD Jones Group, Luke Donaldson, Port Adelaide players Travis Boak and Robbie Gray, and the Crows’ Ben Rutten.

Power captain, Travis Boak, is excited to be launching such a unique venue in the heart of Moseley Square.

“I believe that there is nothing else like The Moseley Bar & Kitchen in Glenelg or South Australia,” Boak said. “We want the venue to be a place that the local community are proud of, and one that also becomes a must-see for tourists.

“As a local I wanted to create an iconic venue where you can relax with a mate over a few beers, and enjoy amazing food and service in a stunning, beach inspired venue,” Travis said.

The Moseley Bar & Kitchen’s Award winning Executive Chef Sam Cromwell has an impressive resume having worked in the kitchens of Assagio, Windy Point, highly regarded regional restaurant The Royal Mail in Victoria, and most recently Tasca Viva which won “Best Tapas” at the South Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards. He’s looking forward to creating a new menu from scratch.

“Simple but high quality food done well will be a focus at The Moseley, and much of it will be sourced locally,” Sam said. “We want to create a relaxed environment that offers top notch service, and premium food and beverages.”

Dining will be the focus on the ground level at The Moseley, upstairs the bar and balcony will convert into a premier nightspot offering casual food, music, and live entertainment.

Ben Rutten says a key focus for the group has been to bring vibrancy back into Moseley Square.

“The Glenelg foreshore is a beautiful location, and the potential is limitless as far as events and entertainment go. We want The Moseley Bar & Kitchen to enhance the character of Moseley Square and reinforce Glenelg as THE place to visit in Adelaide,” Ben said.

“Our venue will also feature two outdoor areas, which will encourage residents, workers and visitors to linger and enjoy the best that this state has to offer.”

Construction of The Moseley Bar & Kitchen started on July 21, and will transform the site which was formerly known as The Dublin.

“No expense has been spared to create a light, bright and chic interior that we hope will provide a home away from home for everyone who visits,” Luke Donaldson said.

“The new venue will feature a handcrafted marble bar, a glass void to capture the natural light, hanging chairs, greenery and an earthy colour scheme. We’re doing everything we can to create a timeless and comfortable atmosphere that all of our customers will enjoy.”

The Moseley Bar & Kitchen will be open in time for the Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run on September 21.
