With the sun setting, crowds began to make their way through to the night’s final show for Thursday, ‘Contemporary Women’s Fashion’ at Adelaide Fashion Festival 2016, presented by Mercedes Benz.
Katya Komarova (above) started the show with a cheeky leather lattice skirt constructed not with stitches but with metal rivets. That method seemed to emanate throughout the collection. The leather shoulder bags, handbags, head pieces, all stitchless. The accessories such as the belts, collars and suede arm cuffs were finished with raw edges too. The collection was bold by keeping details as humble as possible.
NAOMI (above) had a punk rock feel to the collection. The black and white dresses were styled with chains and chokers around the neck and silver eyelet belts. The delicate lace gives the laid back designs an edgy finish.
Millicent Elizabeth opened with a navy and white dress with a neckline that resembled an Egyptian Usekh collar. The two tones were continued right through the designs with the addition of black and off white. The colour palette complimented the sleek designs and added a sense of elegance to each garment. The design of the pants were quite unique; open side slits and overlapping back to front panels. Millicent Elizabeth finished strong with a long, black strappy dress.
Paige Rowe (above) brought an urban jungle feel to the runway. Even after layering the garments, the looks still seemed quite light and comfortable. The tops had tails and the bottoms had tops that wrapped around and tied out the front for a cute bow tie finish.
Liza Emanuele (below) brought the crowd to their knees. Closing the show she summoned Jackie O to the stage. Styling every look with head scarves and olden day glasses, the collection definitely had a vintage influence. Stunning big shag pile fringe jackets and skirts and black classic leopard print dresses were definitely crowd pleasers. The fabrics used were spectacular. Colourful prints embedded with white lace over the top, brilliant. The lace dresses were fixed with sequins so beautifully that the models literally glowed and shone while walking down the runway. This was definitely one of Liza Emanuele’s best collection.
