AFF 2017: Calèche To Unveil Dreamy Collection In Couture Culture Runway

A new couture bridal collection will be revealed on the runway tonight for brides wanting ethically-made gowns that are on trend.

This Adelaide bridal label is bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “green with envy” with their latest collection designed for the environmentally conscious bride.

Tonight couture bridal label, Calèche, will reveal their new ethical and totally dreamy collection, Natural Beauty, as part of Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF).

Moving in a modern direction by creating their first sustainable collection, the range will celebrate the marriage of ethics and aesthetics with garments crafted from recycled, environmentally friendly fabrics.

Designer, Liz Foubert, says, “Leaders in the fashion industry such as Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood and many others have become more ethical while continuing to produce beautiful designs, and we wanted to do the same.

“My daughter has always been passionate about reducing her environmental impact and was the inspiration behind this collection. We truly are a family business at Calèche and this is a case in point of how the label has and will transform as it progresses through the generations,” says Liz Foubert.

While creating the collection Lizresearched, sourced and trialled a variety of natural and organic fabrics such as pineapple organza, linen, silk, hemp and even materials made from recycled plastics to create the perfect ecological designs.

“These kind of fabrics aren’t often considered when constructing bridal couture and it was a lot of fun trying something new. We have been incredibly selective to ensure this collection is as ethical as possible without sacrificing the long-held reputation of Calèche designs,” says Liz Foubert.

The Natural Beauty collection contains twelve complete looks, but in line with the realm of sustainability, Liz has created pieces that are designed to be re-worn separately. The collection boasts floor adorning gowns, coordinating two-piece sets, as well as modern crops layered with whimsical sheer undergarments.

“Emma Watson once said becoming conscious about dressing is incredibly liberating, and that’s how we want our brides to feel. This collection was created for the conscious bride who doesn’t want to compromise her values or integrity to have the dress of her dreams,” says Liz Foubert.

The Natural Beauty collection will also be available for viewing by appointment only at the Calèche showroom, 43-45 Chapel Street Norwood. You can visit www.caleche.com.au or call (08) 8362 0277 for more information.
