Adelaide’s top Asian restaurants are cooking up a storm at AirAsia ASIAFEST

Over 20 of Adelaide’s top Asian eateries will quite literally be bringing their kitchens to Rymill Park for a three-day feast for the senses, as AirAsia ASIAFEST launches on October 4, 5 and 6.

A fusion of Asian flavours will entice festival goers to immerse themselves into what promises to be one of the largest food festivals Adelaide has ever seen.

China presents Golden Dragon Palace, Wah Hing and Ming’s Palace – your taste buds will be dancing with everything from dumplings , squid tentacles, YUM CHA, shallot pancakes, peking duck and honey chicken just to name a few.

Ginza and Golden Dragon owners Paul and Johnny said “We are very excited to feature our restaurants at ASIAFEST, can’t wait to witness the first ever sumo tournament in Adelaide”.

Japan presents Ginza, Samurai Teppanyaki House, The Little Takoyaki Stand and Chi’s Japanese Sweets – you’ll be sure to find teriyaki chicken, sushi, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, teppanyaki skewers and traditional Japanese sweets.

Samurai Teppanyaki owner Clark Zhang said “We’ve been waiting so long for a festival like ASIAFEST to come to Adelaide, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring all Asian cultures together and celebrate our multicultural society”.

Tien Ho, chef at Vietnam Restaurant on Addison Road, presents Vietnam on Halong Bay featuring his famous quails. Toly’s gourmet Vietnamese street food will also be serving its famous bahn mi (Vietnamese meat roll), pho soup and sugar cane prawns.

Korea presents, Don Don Korean BBQ and Gamja Twisters – this is street food at its finest, with spicy chicken skewers, marinated chicken in Korean chilli sauce and the increasingly popular potato on a stick.

Thailand presents Golden Boy, Star of Siam, Indochina and Nee’s Street Food –follow your nose with this one and you will find everything from traditional pad thai, massaman curry, satay skewers, red duck curry, tom yum soup and Golden Boy’s contemporary Thai dishes.

Miles Davies, Head Chef of Golden Boy said “ASIAFEST festival goers can expect a new take on some of Golden Boy’s most popular contemporary Thai dishes, and we will stock up our late night cart with new and surprising street food.”

The Melting Pot presents a mixture of various Asian flavours that will transport you to the streets of Asia! Get a load of Miss Lee’s Fun Buns, Spice Kitchen, Wok in a Box, Bing Boy and Burger Foundry’s Asian fusion burgers.

AirAsia ASIAFEST aims to continue to unveil South Australia as a vibrant city and a destination for unique food, culture and entertainment.
