Adelaidean Folk Alliance Australia Youth Award 2015 winner Kaurna Cronin is urging his fellow musicians to make sure they submit their Live Performance Return (LPR) online by 31 July, to ensure that they get paid for playing live music!

“It’s important to make a Live Performance Return part of your gig checklist,” Kaurna said, “An LPR payment can provide the funds to keep touring, register a car or fund a new guitar case. I lodge mine every year and last year I bought a 68′ Gibson J200 and managed to finalise my studio album recording with the cheque.”
Kaurna Cronin offers sound advice based on his recording and touring success. He’s been awarded the prestigious APRA-AMCOS Emily Burrows Award, the Folk Alliance Youth Award 2015 and Best Acoustic Act at the Fowlers Live Music Awards.
The anticipated release of Cronin’s debut album Glass Fool, 2015 will see Cronin tour throughout Australia and Europe with another 50+ shows booked in UK, Germany, Belgium, France and Scandinavia for mid-2015, cementing his position at the height of Australian folk music.
Thousands of songwriters lodge an online LPR through APRA AMCOS each year and more than $4 million is distributed each year to APRA AMCOS members this way.
“Long after the cheer of the live crowd has died down and the performance fee spent, LPR is the gig that keeps on giving. Completing your LPR takes less time than lodging your BAS and it’s a reward for the hard work of playing live,” said Dean Ormston, Head of Member Services Group, APRA AMCOS.
