Adelaide’s highly anticipated 5-star boutique hotel; the Mayfair Hotel opened its doors on  January 29, 2015. The hotel, located at the prime intersection of King William and Hindley Streets, is nestled within the heritage-listed Colonial Mutual Life (CML) building and is set to become an iconic gateway between both Rundle Mall and the Adelaide’s exciting Riverbank Entertainment Precinct.

The beautiful 1930s heritage façade is complemented by a stunning jewel-box addition. Designed by architects JPE Design Studio, the jewel-box attracts further interest and vibrancy to the King William streetscape. With interiors by Bates Smart, the hotel is beautifully appointed and presents interesting design details that are sure to capture the imagination of its patrons. Mayfair Hotel’s 170 elegant and well-appointed rooms and suites are complemented by amazing spaces, including: the breathtaking rooftop terrace and lounge, light filled meeting and function rooms, business centre, gym and exquisite restaurant, bar and café. These spaces blend harmoniously to create a delightful fusion of past and present.

Stroll down the Mayfair Hotel’s original ribbon staircase and you will find the signature restaurant, Mayflower Restaurant and Bar. In the skilful hands of Executive Chef Bethany Finn, the team of culinary professionals has revived classic hotel cuisine in a contemporary setting, featuring elegant surrounds with beautifully restored carvery and dessert trolleys presented right at your table. The dining experience offers a hint of nostalgia at the same time indulging diners with a taste of South Australia’s best produce and locally sourced ingredients.

A sumptuous High Tea is also offered on the weekends, presenting patrons with a delightful taste experience – a great intermission for the Rundle Mall shoppers. Mayflower Bar, featuring an extensive wine list and showcasing a premium selection of local and international wines, is set to become one of Adelaide’s places to be for after work drinks.

In Café 55, adjacent to the hotel lobby, patrons are immersed in texture and colour, tempted by authentic, delicious crusty baguettes, healthy salads, home-made soups, artisan pies, slow cooked classic braises and exceptional coffee. Guests staying on the executive floors can escape to Hennessy Lounge and indulge in a gourmet breakfast, refreshments and canapés in the afternoon while embracing stunning views across Adelaide from the rooftop Champagne Terrace, lounge, outdoor and bar areas.

The investment costing upwards of $55 million was developed by the Adabco Group, which also owns the Adabco Boutique Hotel, a 4-star hotel comprising 70 rooms on Wakefield Street. Both Adelaide properties are managed by Ethos Hospitality.

Aaron Oh, General Manager, Mayfair Hotel Adelaide said, “We are very excited to be able to breathe new life into one of Adelaide’s most iconic landmarks, preserving a magnificent heritage building. Importantly, we are extremely proud to be showcasing South Australian food, wine and other products to local and international guests.
