Louisa-scottMeet Louisa Scott. Adelaide mother, socialite, model, board member of the Occupational Therapy Board Of Australia and fashionista.

With a professional background, Louisa finds time for what she calls her ‘fun hobbies’ too. These involve various film and TV opportunities including shoots for SA Tourism and strutting her stuff down the runway as a catwalk model

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Louisa also makes time to support fashion events that raise funds for worthy causes.

When asked why she gets involved in these charitable events, she answered “I love the combination of people raising money for worthy causes, an event where you can get together with friends, have fun, have new experiences, make new friends and meet the designers of Adelaide’s fashion in an intimate atmosphere.  I’m happy to support that”.

And we are happy she supports it too, because she is making a big impact on the turn out at these events meaning more support and more funds for the causes involved.

This month, Louisa is supporting Fashion Grand Slam that runs each Thursday of May, raising funds for TeamKids, ensuring that mums, children and their families have access to the best in medical care, equipment and support at SA’s Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

For Louisa supporting fashion events isn’t just about what you wear on the outside, it’s also about setting an example. Louisa told us “As you get older you become more aware of the impact you have on other people and whether you are having a positive impact on your society and your environment.  I want my children to see that I am donating my time, or helping support people or causes that create good and that support others who are less fortunate.”

Living a philanthropic life as a fashionista and setting a good example for your children, well we at Glam Adelaide think that’s truly inspirational and gives fashion a deeper purpose.

And we couldn’t leave the conversation there without asking Louisa’s opinion on the fashion itself. “It’s been fairly diverse with a lot of options for everyone, no matter their body shape.  Lots of easy wearing, fluid clothes that have longevity and won’t sit unworn in your closet.”

Check out the next Fashion Grand Slam event this Thursday night at BNKR in Rundle Mall, and the finale event next Thursday. Tickets are $55 with proceeds going to the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation. www.teamkids.com.au
