On Sunday, 24th August, the the Adelaide Running Festival to be held within the City of Adelaide.

The event is sure to be a winner for serious runners, weekend warriors or just those looking for a scenic fun run through Adelaide, passing through ‘regions’ of the course that celebrate the sport, science, art, conservation and wine that is South Australia.

Starting and finishing at the much accoladed, redeveloped Adelaide Oval, runners will pass across the King William Street Bridge and along North Terrace past SAHMRI and new hospital precinct. They will continue through North Adelaide then the parklands and Botanic Gardens, enjoy the sounds of Adelaide Zoo and sights of the vines of the National Wine Centre, celebrate the Arts when passing the Festival Centre and enjoy the River Torrens backdrop along other parts of the run. Finally finishing for the first time by running over the new footbridge to the Adelaide Oval Southern Plaza . For the shorter course, the picturesque River Torrens will feature.

Very exciting is the news that Race Ambassador will be Steve Moneghetti, OAM and Australian sporting legend. “I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Adelaide Running Festival and joining many others in what is sure to be a fun and exciting event especially now it is finishing at the famous Adelaide Oval.”

There will be many post-race celebrations, food carts, random draw prizes and festivities for all to enjoy.The big screens of the Adelaide Oval Southern Plaza will capture the faces of the runners throughout the morning.

Race distances: Marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.1km), 10km
Charity partner: The official charity of the Adelaide Running Festival is Muscular Dystrophy SA. Fundraisers can also have the chance to win airfares, three nights twin share accommodation and guaranteed entry to the London valued at over $4000. Five dollars from each entry will also go towards MDSA.
