Roller derbyThis weekend’s first bout sees the too deadly Wild Hearses take on powerhouse pilots the Mile Die Club.

The last time these teams played there was a tiny 16-point difference between them at the end of the day.

Roller derby is a fast full-contact sport dominated by all-women teams with more than 1200 amateur leagues worldwide.

The teams skate around an oval track while one skater from each team (the Jammer) attempts to score points by lapping members of the opposing team. It is played by two teams of five skaters on roller skates.

The Wild Hearses have had a stellar season, only dropping one bout to the Salty Dolls earlier this year. They will be one of the teams playing in the 2014 Grand Final, but the second spot is still up for grabs!

The second bout of the day sees seafaring sirens the Salty Dolls take on badass bluebelles the Road Train Rollers.

Tickets are on sale through Oztix or retail outlets Live Clothing, Mr V Music and The Gov. Click

Prices are $12 for adults, $10 for kids and $35 per family plus booking fees; children under five are free.
