sidewoodSidewood’s Mappinga Reserve Shiraz 2012 from the Adelaide Hills has just won a double gold and been named BEST RED WINE at the prestigious 2015 Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America competition held in Florida last week.
The impressive win completes a hat trick of awards for the 95 point Halliday rated wine which also won a Double Blue Gold at the 2014 Sydney International Wine Competition and the Bang Brothers Trophy from the 2013 Winestate Magazine Top 5 Australian and New Zealand Shiraz.  Of the 500 cases produced, 23 cases of the 2012 Mappinga shiraz remain available via cellar door only.
Vigneron Owen Inglis said “we are thrilled to have picked up this impressive American Trophy.  It’s come to us on the back of our Sidewood Estate 2013 Shiraz’s recent show results including gold medals from the Royal Melbourne, Royal Adelaide and the New Zealand International Shows as well as a 95 point score from the Royal Melbourne judges.  With the Sidewood Estate 2013 Shiraz now on 5 golds and the Mappinga Reserve being awarded the accolades it’s been receiving we’re popping the tops on a few of our Sparkling wines to celebrate here at Sidewood”.
The award could not have come at a better time for Sidewood’s Mappinga Reserve Shiraz with the much anticipated 2013 vintage now ready and available to ship once 2012 stocks are exhausted.
