Adelaide audiences can celebrate in the news that a new (up to) 8000 person capacity venue is now available to host live entertainment events as well as a multitude of sports, exhibitions, outdoor events and functions after a ban prohibiting live entertainment at the site was lifted.
The venue formerly known as Adelaide Arena at Crittenden Road Findon is also celebrating name change to Titanium Security Arena with South Australian owned Titanium Security being confirmed as the naming rights sponsor of the venue in a 10 year deal commencing June 2015.
Following consultation by Titanium Security Arena management with relevant parties, local and state government restrictions regarding live entertainment that were placed on the venue upon its opening in 1992 have been lifted to enable the hosting of up to 18 live entertainment events per year.
Guy Hedderwick, General Manager, Titanium Security Arena said “we’re excited to welcome Titanium Security as our naming rights sponsor. They have done an excellent job providing security services to the Arena in recent times so to have them expand their involvement with venue is fantastic.
“Whilst most Adelaideans may know the venue as the home of the 36ers basketball and a multi-sport venue, we are excited to announce that an embargo prohibiting us from hosting live entertainment events has been lifted. This change presents a great opportunity for promoters to look at a new venue options for hosting events in Adelaide. We’re not going head to head with the Entertainment Centre, we are quite different venues but there may be occasions where one venue or another is unavailable and event managers, exhibition hosts or entertainment promoters now have a wider choice of venues in Adelaide. Competition is healthy for everyone” said Mr Hedderwick.
Danny Grotegoed, Director of Titanium Security said “We’re really looking forward to growing our involvement with Titanium Security Arena. Our relationship to date with the venue team has been excellent and the opportunity to take up the naming rights option comes at a perfect time as we look to expand and market our security and training business in both South Australia and interstate.”
The venue has also recently appointed a new catering team – Titanium Arena Catering which operates under the management of Adelaide Oval catering to oversee all event and function catering. The venue has the capability to host dinners for between 12 and 200 people and cocktail parties for up to 320 available in both intimate suites and the larger Apollo room. Cocktail parties and dinners for up to 1000 may also be held in the Arena Bowl.
Titanium Security Arena, whilst best known as a basketball arena is also well known as a multi-sport complex with recent and upcoming events including:
