Adelaide Fringe Sends Smartphone Users On Wild GooseChase

Game on, Adelaide! The Fringe’s GooseChase is challenging festival-goers with a massive scavenger hunt, taking them to Fringe venues and South Australian landmarks across the state.

Adelaide Fringe has turned South Australia into a magical playground for all to enjoy with the launch of its GooseChase scavenger hunt.

The smartphone game offers hundreds of unique missions, puzzles and tasks for users to earn points in the hope of taking the lead and winning the major prize – a trip for two to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (courtesy of Qatar Airways).

Missions range from completing physical activities to answering questions and solving clues found at Fringe venues and iconic South Australian landmarks.

Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO Heather Croall said the GooseChase scavenger hunt was an exciting way for festival-goers to explore Fringe venues and discover places they had never been to before.

“Game on, Adelaide! The Fringe’s GooseChase is challenging festival-goers with a massive scavenger hunt taking them to Fringe venues and South Australian landmarks across the state,” Ms Croall said.

“The game is about completing missions, seeing lots of Fringe shows, earning points and winning prizes. I look forward to seeing the top GooseChaser at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.”

To get involved, users need to download the free GooseChase app from the App Store or Google Play, create an account, join the ‘Adelaide Fringe 2017’ game and start their first mission. Profiles can be created as individuals or in teams.

The more shows users see and the more venues they visit, the more points they collect and therefore the bigger the chance of winning fantastic prizes along the way.

Entries will close on Sunday, March 19, and the major prize winner will be announced at Adelaide Fringe headquarters (64 Fullarton Road, Norwood) on Wednesday, March 22, at 10.30am.

The 2017 Adelaide Fringe will run from February 17 until March 19. For more information, visit www.adelaidefringe.com.au.
