Adelaide Fringe Review: Celia Pacquola – Delayed

Multi award-winning comedian and local klutz Celia Pacquola, moved to the UK in 2010. She didn’t write any postcards to her Mum. She wrote jokes instead. Fresh from sold-out seasons in Melbourne and Edinburgh, Delayed is Celia’s Adelaide debut.

I really want to be friends with Celia Pacquola. There’s just something very likeable about her.

Celia is the kind of girl who isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. Her show at the Rhino Room follows her experiences of moving to London in order to ‘become a different person’ and hilarity obviously ensues.

My favourite thing about the show was that while it was really funny, she was truthful and honest about her own experiences and her awkward tendencies.

If you get a chance to attend one of Celia’s shows, I highly recommend it!

Celia stars in ABC TV’s highly successful black comedy Laid, and has appeared on Spicks and Specks, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, In Gordon St Tonight, Good News Week and Rove.
