A Fringe Festival first, Adelaide Art Walk is being held from the 26 February to 12 March every Thursday night from 6pm to 10pm along Melbourne Street.
Adelaide Art Walk is a multi-venue exhibition supported by Splash Adelaide where people can take a journey through Adelaide’s underground art scene, meet and greet artists, have a go at making their own art whilst enjoying a beverage and food along the way.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese congratulates organiser Gracie Cunningham on her ability to create something out of the ordinary and believes the Art Walk is like nothing else Adelaide has seen before.
“Don’t expect a common exhibition in a silent room, perfect lighting and lowered glasses. Expect chatting, laughing, live music and making your own art!” Martin said.
Gracie guarantees the event is not just for art lovers. Anyone who enjoys a relaxing drink, music, meeting people, trying new things and just getting lost in the moment are all welcome.
“I wanted to create an event that was purely designed to allow people to meet, have fun, make memories and enjoy themselves, and with the help of Splash Adelaide I was able to achieve that,” said Gracie.
“Adelaide Art Walk is all about creating an atmosphere where people enjoy having an experience with old and new friends.”
There will be prize giveaways and opportunities to take home your own keepsakes. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind artwork and support the artists at very reasonable prices. There is also a charity component where we support Ruf Us, a local charity which supports homeless people in Adelaide.
