ANZAC Day is coming up on Saturday April 25th, and Australians will join together to remember those who have been lost. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli.
You can pay your respects this ANZAC Day with a wide range of events and ceremonies being held all around the city and suburbs to honour the heroes fallen and those still serving.
Dawn Service at the South Australian National War Memorial
This Dawn Service will occur from 6am until approximately 7:15am at the South Australian National War Memorial on North Terrace. The Dawn Service will be followed by the ANZAC Day March which will start at 9:30 am. The March will be led by veterans, serving personnel and descendants of veterans.
ANZAC Day March
The Adelaide ANZAC Day March is a solemn march of commemoration, culminating in a service at the Cross of Sacrifice with His Excellency The Governor of South Australia. The March will commence at 9.30am on Saturday April 25, from the corner of North Terrace and Gawler Place. The best positions for spectators to view the march are to line any section of the route on North Terrace, or King William Road.
After the March food, refreshments, Two Up and entertainment will be available at the Torrens Parade Ground. This activity is open to the public, veterans, family, friends and interstate and overseas visitors.

What’s On During the Day
The Union Hotel ANZAC Day Street Party: The Union Hotel is keeping with tradition this ANZAC Day, with their annual Street Party commencing at 10am. The day is a celebratory occasion to pay respects to current and ex-service men and women. The street comes alive with boutique beer and wine tents, food stalls and the annual Legacy Foundation fundraising BBQ. Live acts this year include 5AA Allstars (with Graham Cornes), Bay Big Band, SA Pipes & Drums and Mount Barker Pipes & Drums.
Adelaide Harmony Choir – ‘ANZAC Harmony’: On Saturday April 25th, the choir will perform a concert titled ‘ANZAC Harmony’ which features the beautiful and powerful music of ‘The Armed Man – a Mass for Peace’ by Karl Jenkins, along with a number of anthems for Royal occasions. Camp Gallipoli Adelaide: Camp Gallipoli is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all South Australians to come together on the 100th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli. Attendees will sleep out under the stars on Friday April 24th, just as the original ANZACs did 100 years ago. Occurring at Morphettville Racecourse, Camp Gallipoli will have spaces set aside for camping using swags, sleeping bags and mats just like the Diggers did. With entertainment, special guests, movies, documentaries and a very special Dawn Service on ANZAC Day this is a touching way to commemorate the anniversary. ANZAC Day Clash: Port Adelaide takes on Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval for the 2015 ANZAC Day Clash. Gates open at 4:30pm and the match kicks off at 7:10pm.
Army Museum of South Australia: located within Keswick Barracks, ANZAC Highway, the Museum will be open to the public on ANZAC Day after the Keswick Barracks dawn service and breakfast.
ANZAC Race Day at Morphettville: Gates open at 11am. Adult General Admission Tickets are $15, Children under 18 are FREE (Tickets are available to purchase upon arrival at Morphettville.) In honour of their significant contribution and sacrifice, all current and ex-servicemen and women will receive FREE entry to Morphettville on the day. The first 500 racegoers through the gates on the day will also receive a complimentary ANZAC biscuit. The ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be broadcast live from Gallipoli on selected screens around the course from 12pm. The RSL will be collecting at Morphettville on the day and patrons are encouraged to give generously.
Australian Inspired Lunch at The Winning Post Restaurant: The Winning Post Restaurant at Morphettville Racecourse will be offering heart-warming three course Australian inspired lunch, including a salad of seared Tasmanian salmon, grilled Murraylands lamb loin and individual pavlovas with chantilly cream, kiwifruit, strawberries and passionfruit. One of the premium locations at Morphettville, located on the second floor of the Members Grandstand and overlooking the winning post, you won’t miss any of the racing action with superb views of the entire racecourse. ANZAC Day Road Closures
There will be road closures throughout the city to facilitate the ANZAC Day assembly and march of ex-servicemen and women. Pulteney Street, North Terrace, King William Road, Kintore Avenue and Sir Edwin Smith Avenue will be closed between 8:00 am and 12 noon on Saturday 25 April.
