Adelaide ANZAC Day Guide 2011

With Adelaide’s wide range of dawn services throughout the city, everyone can celebrate and honour the ANZACs this ANZAC Day.

ANZAC Day Services

Adelaide City Dawn Service: The South Australian RSL remembers the day with a commemorative Dawn Service commencing at 6.15am and March commencing at 9.30am. At the conclusion of the March will be the Cross of Sacrifice Service at approximately 11.35am.

RSL Blackwood: 
ANZAC Service 8.30am at Cherry Gardens and Main Road 
9am at Coromandel Valley.

Brighton Dawn Service: The Brighton RSL will be coordinating the Official March and Dawn Service for all Veterans and Service personnel. 
All participants to assemble from 5.30am at the City of Holdfast Bay Council Office on Jetty Road, Brighton.

The march will start at 5.45am and will proceed along Jetty Road to the Arch of Remembrance at Brighton Jetty. The Dawn Service will commence at 6.00am and conclude at approximately 6.45am.

Following the service the Brighton RSL will host a breakfast for a gold coin donation at their clubrooms at 11-13 Keelara Street, Brighton. 
All participants and members of the public are invited to attend.

Magill/Rostrevor: An ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at 6.30am at the War Memorial Garden, The Gums Reserve, Shakespeare Avenue, Rostrevor. Following this is a breakfast at the Magill RSL Hall, 8 Lorne Avenue, Magill.

Marion: Commences at 6.20pm at the conclusion of the ANZAC Youth Vigil at the Memorial Gardens, next to the Edwardstown Bowling Club, Raglan Avenue, Edwardstown.

RSL McLaren Vale: ANZAC Dawn service 6.15am at Memorial Park, Gemmel Tassie Reserve, Valley View Drive, McLaren Vale

RSL Morphett Vale: Dawn Service 6 am at City of Onkaparinga Memorial Gardens, South Road, Morphett Vale

RSL Port Noarlunga/Christies Beach: Remembrance Service 5.30am in the Memorial Gardens adjacent to the Clubroom, Esplanade, Port Noarlunga.

Norwood RSL: Dawn service at 6.15am at the Soldiers Memorial (Corner of Osmond Terrace and The Parade, Norwood).

Payneham RSL: Dawn Service at 6.15am at the Cross of Sacrifice (corner of OG Road and Payneham Road) followed by a light breakfast at Payneham RSL and a free bus to follow the Anzac Day March in Adelaide. (360 Payneham Road, Payneham).

FREE Anzac Day Community Concert To commemorate the spirit of the ANZAC, the Payneham City Concert Band will perform at the Payneham Youth Centre (Turner Street, Felixstow) from 2pm to 4pm. All are welcome to attend. Please contact Helen Hanwit-Arney on 8396 5374 for more information.

Playford Anzac Day Dawn Service: 6am at the Cross of Remembrance Memorial, Smithfield.

City of Prospect: A service will be held at 6am in the Memorial Gardens, opposite RSL Clubrooms, on Menzies Crescent, Prospect.

Salisbury Dawn Service: 6am Service, Salisbury War Memorial, Orange Avenue.

St Morris RSL: Dawn service at 6.30am at the Memorial Gardens (Corner of First Avenue and Green Street, St Morris) followed by a breakfast at the St Morris RSL Clubrooms (Green Street, St Morris).

Unley RSL: The Unley R.S.L. will conduct a Dawn Service in the Unley Memorial Gardens (adjacent Woolworths shopping centre on Unley Road) on Monday 25 April and you are requested to be there by 5.45 am.

A Bugler and Catafalque Party of the 10/27 Battalion RSAR and the City of Unley Concert Band will be in attendance.

After the service, breakfast will be available in the Club Rooms, RSL Unley Sub Branch, 29 Arthur Street, Unley at a cost of $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. All Welcome.

Walkerville: An Anzac Dawn Service will be held at the Walkerville Memorial Gardens, Church Terrace at 6am followed by a barbecue breakfast at the Walkerville RSL, Walkerville Terrace.

The Grand ANZAC Day Concert 2011 at 
Adelaide Town Hall

Celebrate ANZAC Day 2011 with a Proms style concert at the Adelaide Town Hall. Join in the fun of singing some old favourites drawn from the popular songs of World War I & II.

The Union Hotel: The traditional Adelaide meeting place after the ANZAC Parade.

As the spirit of ANZAC Day gets stronger each year, so does the tradition of celebrating the nation’s freedom at The Union, with part proceeds from the day to benefit Legacy.

Waymouth St will be closed for the celebrations between 10am and 10pm.

Guests will be invited to tuck into the Legacy Club Sausage Sizzle, and the traditional Aussie fare of pies, pasties, and more.

SANFL ANZAC Day Clash

Central District Football Club is proud to take part in the ANZAC Day Grand Final rematch at Adelaide Oval on ANZAC Day. More importantly it is an opportunity for our Club to honour the ANZAC Spirit in the heart of Adelaide.

As is tradition, marching ex-servicemen and women and uniformed personnel taking part on the ANZAC Day ceremonies receive complimentary admission to the ANZAC Day game. This year that is being extended to ALL current serving ADF personnel (uniformed and non-uniformed) upon presentation of their ADF identity card at Adelaide Oval. Prior to the game an ANZAC Day ceremony is conducted with a lap of honour for those SANFL footballers who have served our country.

For non-service admission prices are: $12 adult, $5 concession and children under 18 are free.
