A New Chef, A New Menu And Even More Reason To Visit Lindes Lane

All of the cheese, all of the wine, all of the burger, just all of the yum….

Here in the Glam Adelaide office there are three things that we take very seriously: food, wine and coffee. So obviously when there is a venue that also takes those things equally as seriously, they have our attention…

Coming up to their first birthday, Lindes Lane is like a little slice of Melbourne or Sydney right here in Adelaide. Hidden down a sneaky side street off of Rundle Mall, you will find this little firecracker doing amazing things.

Given the eclectic style and small bar vibe of this venue, you might be fooled into thinking that you can’t get yourself a decent restaurant-style meal at this joint, but you would be wrong. Oh so wrong… After our recent visit we were blown away by the variety and dining options offered on the menu. And with new chef Yo-Yo on the scene, she is cooking up everything from small bites such as a pizza to share, all the way to a heartier more filling meal such as their Sumac Kangaroo Fillet with pumpkin puree, fetta and pomegranate & pistachio pesto.

Now being the helpful people that we are, we wanted to be able to give you some honest feedback on the food and what you can expect. Hey, someone’s gotta do it! So we did a little bit of menu testing while we were there…

All we have to say is:

1: Get Chef Yo-Yo’s Selection Plate, you won’t be disappointed.

2: If the way that the Panko Chicken Burger tastes is anything to go by, you should just order one of everything off the menu.

Glam gal Isabelle had this to say about the burger:

“Its textures are balanced; crispy, panko-coated chicken lies beneath a juicy, sweet pineapple salsa, inside a soft (not greasy- like some others) brioche bun. A spicy yet light mango and sriracha mayo cuts through the sweetness and it’s rounded out with the usual tomato, cheese and peppery rocket. It screams ‘Summer in a bun’ and transports your imagination to a shoreline in Jamaica.”

But this place isn’t just about the food. They also have a strong focus on wine and coffee. Well they do call themselves a ‘Cafe Wine Bar’. With alumni from Bar 9 and Cork Wine Bar in the mix it is easy to understand how Lindes Lane has such an amazing offering of wine and coffee.

Did we happen to mention that this place also looks amazing? Yeah well when one of Adelaide’s most well known interior/exterior designers is at the helm, that comes as no surprise! Jason Jurecky ensured that the fit out was sleek yet unpretentious. With a totally relaxed vibe, we could hang out here all day, everyday.

Considering the buzz and action in the city at the moment it is the perfect place to head pre or post Fringe show. Especially as they are running a Fringe Platter Special. Hello delicious platter and 2 glasses of wine for just $45!!

And we haven’t even told you about the secret bar downstairs…
