Riddle me this: What do bouncy castles, bespoke cakes, a best dressed competition, and dogs have in common?
Well…combined they equal one hell of a party. And there’s nothing we love better than a party. With dogs and cake.
This year the Greyhound Adoption Program SA (GAP SA) is celebrating its 20th birthday with greyhounds and their owners at an adoption day birthday bash at Angle Park.
You don’t have to own a greyhound to attend. Actually… you don’t even have to have a dog to attend. All doggos and humans welcome!
Celebrations will be held on Saturday 23rd September 2017 and entry is free for all. Families who have adopted through the program are invited to bring their greyhounds and other furry friends along to join in the celebration. So. Many. Doggos!!
- ‘Best Dressed’ Greyhound competition
- Free Doggy Photobooth
- Free party bag for all greyhounds
- Free bouncy castle and face painting for the kids
- Cake for BOTH your pup and you
- Stalls, music and more!
GAP SA is an initiative of Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA) dedicated to finding homes for both retired and non-racing greyhounds. GRSA CEO, Mr Matt Corby, says the program has been incredibly popular with the community who love the greyhound’s loving and gentle nature.
“Without a doubt, greyhounds are growing in popularity with South Australian families. They are gentle animals, love being with people, and are very easy to take care of. Their versatility to live in different environments and with different family units makes them a very popular pet choice.”
People who are interested in fostering or adoption are strongly encouraged to come along to chat to the friendly team to find out more. There will be a number of Greyhounds available for fostering or adoption, along with a free doggy photo booth, a free party bag for all greyhounds, a bouncy castle, face painting for the kids, stalls, music, and loads more.
A best dressed greyhound competition will kick off at 12:30pm and will be judged by; Mirella Romano, Fashion Editor Sunday Mail, Chris Kontos, Creative Director Adelaide Fashion Festival and Brigette Mitchell, Director Finesse Models. Fashions on the field but with Greyhounds? We dare you to find something better to do with your Saturday.
