A humble Aussie favourite has been given a fresh face just in time for Australia Day, with South Australia’s Kytons Bakery introducing a new addition to its award-winning lamington range – coffee.
Statistics gathered by Galaxy Research late last year showed that 90 per cent of South Australians drink coffee, making the state the country’s biggest consumer of the caffeinated drink.
Appealing to this trend, Kytons coffee lamington combines two great loves into one product, giving South Australians a completely new way to enjoy a “coffee”.
“Lamingtons are a much loved tradition on Australia Day, and for many South Australians coffee is a staple of their daily routine,” said Kytons Bakery owner Sharon Sutton.
“We’ve blended these two loves into one, home-grown product, giving our local supporters something special that is tailor-made to suit the tastebuds of our state.”
Kytons first trialled its coffee lamingtons at the 2014 Royal Adelaide Show, handing out samples to encourage showgoers to try it first hand.
“We were thrilled with the result of the taste tests, and when we released a limited edition of the product for sale at the Show, it sold out on several days,” said Ms Sutton.
Kytons is a South Australian owned and operated family business, and its lamingtons have been baked in Adelaide for more than four decades. The products have won a series of national baking awards throughout the years.
The new flavour is an addition to the existing range of traditional, raspberry and orange lamingtons – all of which have stolen the hearts of South Australians.
“We’re quite excited to hear what people think of the new flavour, and hope everyone gets to enjoy a wonderful Australia Day,” said Ms Sutton.
Kytons lamingtons are available from the Bakery’s factory outlet at Edwardstown and at more than 150 stockists around the state – including Foodland supermarkets, gourmet fruit and vegetable stores, selected Woolworths supermarkets and through Aussie Farmer Direct.
