$55 For All You Can See Fringe Tickets

This Fringe a brilliant new website is offering performers and punters a way to ensure every show is a sell out!

Ronit With over 900 shows to choose from in the 2014 Adelaide Fringe program – and, at a time when people are more likely to head for what they know – it can be as hard for artists and venues to reach new audiences as it is overwhelming for people to part with their hard-earned cash on a show they’re not quite sure if they’ll like or not.

Enter Ronit Fazekas, who – after 15 years in the ticketing industry and more than a little built-up frustration at great shows not reaching audiences – saw the need to grow the number of people who make live performance attendance part of their social experience.

After six years of research, Ronit tapped into savings she’d set aside to buy her first home to create Little Birdy Tix : an affordable social media marketing, promotion and audience development tool designed to connect artists, venues, festivals, promoters, publicists and producers with the general public.

For an annual subscription fee of $55, a Little Birdy Tix  membership entitles subscribers to their choice of free single or double tickets to site featured shows that have been allocated by festival promoters, events and artists. Whilst subject to ‘first in, best dressed’ availability, a minimum of two tickets is made available per featured show. Members can see as many shows as are made available on the site during the calendar year, all for the average cost of just two Fringe show tickets. The only catch – if the member cannot in fact use the ticket they’ve ‘purchased’, they’re to let Little Birdy Tix  know up to two hours prior to the performance start time so that there is still an opportunity to put ‘bums on seats’.

Since its soft launch mid-2012, over 200 promoters have used the site for over 500 shows across festivals, theatre, dance, comedy, cabaret, film and music, including Sydney Film Festival, Bell Shakespeare, Midsumma Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Malthouse Theatre, Live Nation, Mary Tobin Presents, Strut & Fret Production House, Eddie Ifft, EastEnd Cabaret, Comic Strip and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

Unlike most ticketing and audience development digital platforms – where the highest paying promoter scores the most prominent site position – Ronit was keen to ensure all artists, big and small, were given equal positioning when it came to helping them create a larger paying audience through the vital word of mouth the service provides. Free for promoters to use, the Little Birdy Tix  site will randomly generate homepage featured shows and each event page is equally listed: Members may find tickets to Australia’s most established theatre company sitting next to tickets to an emerging artist no one has ever heard of.

Valid Australia-wide, Little Birdy Tix  has so far concentrated on the Melbourne and Adelaide arts and entertainment scene with aims to offer the same variety of choice in NSW, QLD, TAS, WA and NT in the not so distant future. This is the second year Little Birdy Tix  has been open to Adelaide Fringe Festival shows.

“After the success of working with the Garden of Unearthly Delights  to get bums on seats last year we are teaming up again and have extended our Fringe friendship to get out to all artists for the festival! The more members and bums on seats the more shows we will have listed!” said Ronit.

So for the price of two Fringe event tickets, Little Birdy Tix is giving Adelaide the opportunity to see and talk about as many Fringe shows this Festival as is possible. Currently up for grabs: Eddie Ifft , Wau Wau Sisters , Abandoman and Eastend Cabaret.
