Charli was left a little in shock this morning when she was surprised by 28 ballerinas in full costume at the Adelaide Airport but, with a little bit of reassurance, she was soon twirling like the ballerina she has always wished to be. Thanks to Make-A-Wish Australia, Charli who suffers from Burkitt leukaemia, was given her wish as she danced along with the incredible ‘flash mob’. The mob, made up of  dancers from the Australian Youth Ballet, performed the Nutcracker Suite to give Charli an airport experience like no other! The ballet dancers then personally escorted the little six year old and her family to their awaiting flight. Her family, who she hasn’t seen often in recent months due to her medical treatment, joined her to experience the next part of her little adventure.

The dream isn’t over for Charli and her family when they arrive in Melbourne because the Make-A-Wish team have got a little something up their sleeves… Charli and her family will also be enjoying a special behind the scenes experience with the Australian Ballet, and will be the guest of honour at the opening night of Cinderella tomorrow night in Melbourne.

Now in its 30th year, Make-A-Wish Australia has granted more than 8000 cherished wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, giving them hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.
