100 Nebbiolo Wines On Offer At This Weekend’s Epic Wine Event

More than 100 versions of Italy’s most famous wine can be tasted this weekend at an amazing event held at Mount Lofty House.

More than 100 versions of Italy’s most famous wine can be tasted at ‘CIN CIN NEBBIOLO’ on Sunday November 12, at Mt Lofty House. The event will exclusively feature imports from Italy and locally produced Nebbiolo.

Chris Sarandis, from host Mercato, promises “a strong cross-section of Nebbiolo wines from northern Italy, particularly Piedmont, the grape’s traditional heartland”.

Chris said Mercato had carefully chosen Mt Lofty House as the venue because of its Adelaide Hills backdrop – “so evocative of the hills of La Morra in Italy’s Piedmont, the home of Nebbiolo” – and because the Hills produces some of Australia’s best Nebbiolo. He says at least 20 Australian producers will also be represented including Henschke, Longview & JOSEPH. “Guests will meet importers and local Nebbiolo producers and can also register to attend master-classes”.

Local Italian wine guru David Ridge will lend his great enthusiasm and credibility to the event with other Nebbiolo experts following his lead. And, a live satellite cross will transport our guests to Italy’s Barbaresco Region to meet talented young Italian Nebbiolo producer Riccardo Bera of Azienda Agricola Bera.

“CIN CIN … cheers to … NEBBIOLO offers an exciting opportunity for connoisseurs of this superb wine to taste a wide selection and extend their knowledge,” Chris says. “For all wine lovers it’s an unparalleled opportunity to discover why Nebbiolo is known worldwide as ‘the king of grapes and the grape of kings’”.

“What Pinot Noir is to the French, Nebbiolo is to Italians.”
