This sweet little gem of a play, brings Brian Godfrey to Galleon for his first directing stint with the company (having been on stage in our previous production  Sex Cells!). Brian brings many years of theatre experience to the director’s chair, and he’s enjoying calling on his knowledge of comedy and what makes it work, to present this fast paced little comedy.

The story revolves around Allen and Michelle (played by Simon Lancione and Brittany Daw), two young people who have been living together for eighteen months. It is the first real relationship for both of them. Michelle thinks they should marry; Allen isn’t so sure. His hesitancy drives her home to her parents for advice.

This is Simon’s second outing with Galleon, having previously appeared in the very successful Loves And Hours. This is Brittany’s first time with the groups and she is relishing the challenge.

Michelle’s parents are : father Howard (played by Lindsay Dunn) and mother Grace (played by Anita Canala).

This is Lindsay’s first outing with Galleon and he brings a wealth of experience to the role, having played in a multitude of roles and styles over the years. Anita is no stranger to Galleon, and this makes her 4th consecutive appearance , with her 5th coming up in early 2017.

Allen’s parents are : father Sam (played by Andrew Clark) and mother Monica (played by Sharyn De Zolt).

Andrew is also no stranger to Galleon, having appeared in many roles over the last 14 years of his involvement with the group. Sharyn, on the other hand, is also a “first-timer” with the group, and is returning to the stage after a long lay-off.

Interestingly Sharyn, Anita and Andrew first performed together in 2002, so this is a mini-reunion of sorts for them with this production.

The pieces fall uproariously into place when the parents decide to meet the young lovers over dinner to lend their maturity and experience for the benefit of their children’s relationship. It’s suddenly everyone for himself in this wild, rollicking look at love and romance.

This light hearted comedy romp is appearing at The Domain Theatre, Marion Cultural Centre, Cnr Diagonal and Sturt Roads (Adjacent to Marion Shopping Centre).
