Warm your cockles with this LOBO Cider recipe, straight from the apple orchards of Lenswood.
LOBO Lenswood Mulled Cider
Place your cider in a saucepan over low heat (a slow cooker works well). Do NOT boil the cider – in fact, do not exceed 80 deg C or you will be losing the alcohol. A coffee thermometer is good for checking this.
For each 330ml bottle of LOBO apple cider, add the following:
1/4 stick of cinnamon
1/2 clove
1 dessert spoon brown sugar
pinch of mace (nutmeg)
pinch of ground ginger
For added luxury add a small chip of butter.
For even more extra added luxury melt some cubed pear or quince in butter and pour warm cider over.
