Leon Bridges To Join Florence And The Machine Tour

With just under a month until Florence and the Machine return to Adelaide, there’s a new addition to the tour lineup with Leon Bridges joining as support act.

The recently Grammy-nominated US RnB artist will be in Australia in January for a headline east coast tour, but will make a mid-tour detour to make a very special appearance at Florence and The Machine’s Botanic Park gig on Wednesday January 16.

Bridges has gone from honing his craft in a community centre – dancing while washing dishes and waiting tables – to huge success in just a few short years. He has appeared on tracks with Macklemore and ODESZA, performed for Barack Obama’s Birthday at the White House alongside Stevie Wonder, and has chalked up dual Grammy Awards nominations including Best R&B Album.

Unfortunately, the addition is because breakout US teen sensation Billie Eilish can no longer make the Australian leg of the tour.

Billie has announced she will need to remain in the US in January, and said:

“Hi my loves, unfortunately we all came to realize recently that we need some more time to finish something very important before going back out and doing more shows. I love you all and I’m so sorry about this 🙁 I promise you I will be back in Australia and New Zealand before you know it. my love to youuu all.”

Already announced on the bill, New Zealand’s Marlon Williams will also join with Florence + TheMachine on all Australian dates.

Florence and the Machine are playing in Adelaide on Wednesday January 16. Tickets are selling fast from liveinthepark.com/florence-and-the-machine.
