From a suburban living room to stages at Parklife and Stereosonic, its fair to say that Adelaide indie-rock kids Jupiter Lead (Glam’s face of live ‘n’ local music) have come along way since they formed in late 2008 and 2010 is set to be no different.
As the rest of us brace ourselves for the winter months this six-piece outfit is busy writing and prepping their guitars, keyboards, drums, and vocal chords for the opportunity of a lifetime.
Come mid-July the band will say goodbye to Adelaide and head to Sydney where they will begin work, alongside Aria Award winning producer/engineer Brent Clark (Silverchair, Sarah Blasko and Alanis Morissette) and former Midnight Oil guitarist Jim Moginie, on their debut EP.
“We are really excited about having the opportunity to work with such experienced and talented people. It was all really unexpected. One minute our drummer was doing session work in a Sydney studio, and the next thing we knew we were confirming recording and mixing sessions” front man Matt Fisher said.
But fortunately we don’t have to wait until July to get a taste of what Jupiter Lead have to offer as the band play a series of live shows across town in the lead up to their recording date.
This month’s installment will see the band take to the stage at Jive Bar on Hindley Street this Saturday the 15th of May with support from fellow Adelaide rockers 20th Century Graduates and The Last Broadcast.
