Langhorne Creek is an intimate country town smack bang in the middle of Murray Bridge and Victor Harbour, well known for being a premium red grape growng region. But for the first time ever, it’s producing beer. And not just any beer – beer by the region’s very first Craft Beer label, Meechi Brewing Company.

Founded by two couples (Matt Schmidt, Ben Potts, Kate Fletcher, Lucy Willson) with a love of wine and thirst for a cleansing ale, Meechi Brewing Company has expanded from a casual back shed experiment to highly anticipated business. Extensive testing carried out on family members and friends has ensured a beverage perfect for backyard BBQs and long lunches.
Meechi, whose name  is the Aboriginal name for the River Bremer which flows through Langhorne Creek and into Lake Alexandrina, is launching its Pale Ale with a Lazy Sunday Session at The Winehouse in Langhorne Creek on 19th October 2014. The event will be a day of beer, music, food and wine.
Meanwhile, the company is is currently producing 330ml bottles, which are available for tasting and purchase from The Winehouse at Langhorne Creek.
