Joshy Willo to Perform Unplugged

Joshy Willo, this year’s winner of Triple J’s ‘Unearthed’ one night stand competition, will perform live and unplugged at the Wheatsheaf Hotel this Thursday 5 May 2011.

This is his first performance since winning the prestigious competition and is to say thank you to his Adelaide fans.

The Eyre Peninsula based singer/songwriter is currently receiving interest and airplay all over the country as he records material for his second album.

Joshy Willo said that it is important to meet and reward his Adelaide supporters for their faith in him and loyalty over the last 12 months.

“I am excited about what the future holds and would love to play some blues and roots festivals around the country in the coming year but first, I want to play an intimate thank you gig in Adelaide and, this is it. It’s all come together so quickly,” says Willo.

With a sound somewhere between Jack Johnson and Ben Harper, his original music and songwriting skills ensure you are captivated by the warm easy listening tunes. Winning ‘Unearthed’ has put Joshy Willo in the company of some of Australia’s best known and most successful recording artists (a handful of many ‘Unearthed’ success stories include Missy Higgins, Killing Heidi, Grinspoon, Abbie Cardwell just to name a few).

Willo’s star is on the rise and the future looks bright with his debut album ‘Moon as a Mirror’ being released at the end of March this year.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel is situated at 39 George Street, Thebarton. Doors Open at 8.30pm and tickets are $10 per person at the door.
