Jealous of all those lucky fans waving their flags on the sidelines of the Tour de France race? Well, 2KW Bar and Rooftop is bringing France to you with their sumptuous dinner showcasing dishes, produce and, of course, wine from many French regions!

France.

The name alone stirs images of rolling hills with a golden sun dropping behind the rows of vineyards, scents of freshly baked bread and rich red wines, and the sounds of turning wheels as cyclists battle countryside twists and cobblestone roads in one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year—the Tour de France.

If you’re watching from home, feeling jealous of all those lucky fans waving their flags on the sidelines, we’ve got some great news for you!

In an event as unique as the race itself, 2KW Bar and Restaurant is hosting Tour of France, a sumptuous dinner showcasing dishes, produce and, of course, wine from many French regions on Wednesday, July 25 at 6:30pm.

You can expect a progressive, interactive dinner—then relax with a glass of French wine in hand while you watch one of the most gruelling mountain stages ever in the world’s most famous international cycling event.

The menu will take you across the many regions of France without ever having to leave the comfort of 2KW’s cosy rooftop bar, stopping in the famous wine regions of Muscadet, Sancerre, Savoie, Rhone Valley, and Langued’oc Roussillion.

2KW’s executive chef, Trent Lymn has designed some delightful dishes for the evening. Out on the terrace, enjoy the silver glimmer of distant stars and the golden glow of Adelaide after dark while indulging in the Chef’s oyster bar, alongside a 2015 Domaine Jean-Perrier et Fils Cremant de Savoie. Or take your pick from Massi’s cured meats and applewood smoked sausage with fermented Dijon mustard, paired with a 2016 Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet Sur Lie.

Feeling a little chilly? Head inside where the restaurant will be showcasing only the best of French culinary expertise, serving up freshwater perch with beurre blanc, Goolwa pippies and saffron, all complementing the 2016 Domaine Pichot Vouvray Clos Cartaud. For something a little more local, how about civet-style Lenswood pasture-raised duck, Josper roasted and served with Provencal rillions, celery, pomegranate and apple vinegar cider—oh, and let’s not forget the 2013 Chateau des Tours VdP de Vaucluse to match!

But wait… there’s more! A French-inspired evening couldn’t be complete without a French cheese selection, so come ready to indulge in so much cheese and wine. For more information on the wines, check out the Facebook event.
