Join The Party At The Science Exchange On Fringe Opening Night

Science buffs will have a whale of a time at the marine-themed Fringe parade and opening night party at the Science Exchange this Friday. Join the RiAus for a night of fun from 4.30pm at the Science Exchange bar. RiAus staff and volunteers will don underwater-inspired costumes for a pre-Parade gathering and refreshments and lucky fans may have the chance to meet National Numeracy Ambassador and comedian Simon Pampena, who will perform in The Fame Algorithm this RiAus Fringe season.

The Parade will start at 8pm and travel from Victoria Square along King William Road, finishing on Hindley Street. The Science Exchange crew will add colour and movement as hordes of shimmering sea-creatures and marine life frolic alongside a parade float comprising a boat made of recycled and found materials. Watch out for Giant Australian Cuttlefish costumes — the cephalopod features in RiAus Fringe play Sepia by local playwright Emily Steel.

Come back to the Science Exchange after the parade from 11pm for a special short preview snippet of sold-out show, Science of Fiction: Doctor Who. Those who missed out on tickets to this sci-fi inspired favourite will be in for a treat!

The team at the Science Exchange guarantees to entertain your brain this Fringe season, with plenty of maths and science fare and a healthy dose of comedy and drama. See the full program at the RiAus website.
